EduWave^® for Educators

The immense power of EduWave is most easily displayed through its exciting and unique teacher tools. The authoring tools allow teachers to work with and change digitized textbooks (if authorized) or any other material/objects available over the internet (learning objects - files, documents, graphs, photographs, images and so on). As approved material is brought into EduWave, set to the authoring function and linked to learning outcomes, it is almost magically transformed into a special "edit" mode that allows it to be adjusted and enhanced for the classroom or for individual students. Since EduWave links everyone together through a secure network, authored work may be shared among others in the school system or as allowed, anywhere in the world.

Other features in EduWave bring teachers a number of interesting options and excellent flexibility to deliver their message to students in ways that are most suitable for their classroom or even for each individual student's needs. Instant video-conferencing with a fully-functional whiteboard and access to all features of the system give teachers a great avenue to reach out to their classroom or others in their EduWave network. Since these sessions are able to be recorded and replayed, those students who are behind or absent have easy access to lessons for which they might need extra review or clarification, while students and parents can always email or IM their teachers for clearer follow-up in real time or whenever the teacher can respond.

The SmartTeacher™ function is another unique feature that can mean the difference between success and failure for students who may be struggling with certain lessons or concepts. SmartTeacher™ helps children learn at their own pace, and can automatically guide them by using references directly from the curriculum or lesson in question. This information is also kept year over year so that if a misunderstood 5th-grade math concept is causing problems in 7th-grade math, it may be revisited by the 7th-grade student and teacher, allowing the child to be quickly directed back to the root of the problem. When reviewed again in 7th grade, the original problem is often immediately understood, and the student is able to get right back on track.

EduWave also contains a virtually unlimited learning-object (repository) filing system, meaning that materials or information residing anywhere in the system may be accessed in an instant by anyone with permission. All learning objects can be linked to learning outcomes through this solution and this kind of access opens up a vast library of information and knowledge for teachers and students of all ages and backgrounds. With the web-browsing capability, this means that there is truly no limit to what may be brought into the classroom, and all of this is enabled through a totally secure, monitored EduWave platform.

And lastly, educators have a remarkable tool chest of features allowing them to reach out to students, parents and other stakeholders in a multitude of ways. Beyond the EduWave teaching tools, educators are able to communicate through email, Instant Messaging or even using the EduSession™ feature that instantly enables people in different locations to talk together and see one another, using a simple webcam and headset or microphone.

When it comes time for grading and assessments, or even for such mundane daily duties as taking attendance, EduWave makes the task "quick and easy". Attendance data need only be entered once, and it becomes a permanent record available to any authorized party, while for the teacher familiar with EduWave, the structuring of creative assessments and the posting of grades (with teacher comments) becomes quite second nature.
